2. Description
1. Paper dust and waste toner may cause the CL brush roller to become clogged which in
turn may cause a cleaning problem or the drum to wear unevenly.
2. Waste toner may adhere to the waste toner transport screw, which will decrease the
performance of the transport screw.
The above issues may lead to black streaks to appear on the copies. If these copy quality
issues occur replace the CL brush roller and the waste toner transport screw at the same
time.
3. Description
1. The bristles of the CL brush roller have been made thicker and the density of the
bristles has been lowered.
2. Changing from a resin waste toner transport to a metal type has been implemented at
the same time.
Improvement to clear waste toner from the process
unit.

Procedure for replacement of the CL brush roller.
(Please note: when replacing the CL brush roller, it is recommended that the cleaning blade and the toner
receive seal are replaced at the same time.)
1)  Open the front door.
2)  Open the process cover.
3)  Open the left door.
4)  Remove the MC charger unit.
5)  Remove the blue screw.
6)  Remove the drum bearing.
7)  Pull out the process unit.

8)  Remove the OPC drum
8-1 Disconnect the connectors (1).
8-2 Remove the blue screws to open the lower frame (2).
8-3 Gently remove the drum and guides (3).
9)  Remove the cleaner blade.
10)  Remove the toner receive seal.
