1. Model Name
ARM550/M620/M700
2. Description
In previous tech bulletins 023 (ARM700) and 041 (ARM550/M620) we informed you of an
upgrade to improve halftone image quality, to enhance this further this upgrade to both
the PCU and Scanner ROMS will improve the initial low density and half tone density.
Once the upgrade has been done settings within the following test commands must be
carried out.
Note 1 If the Main ROM is at Vu4.03 (or Vp4.03) and the Boot is at VM5.32A then only
the PCU and Scan ROMS requires upgrading. However if the machine has an ARP19
installed and the Main and Boot ROMS are not at Vp4.03 and VM5.32A then the machine
must be upgraded to this level first then the PCU and Scan ROMS are to be upgraded to
the latest level.
Note 2. When upgrading the PCU and Scan ROMS it is advised that the Scan ROM is
upgraded first. If the PCU ROM is upgraded first, at the end of the Scan upgrade
procedure ‘Result NG’ may appear, if this happens then the Scan upgrade procedure
must be carried out again, ‘Result OK’ will then appear.
