1.Model Name
ARM350/450, ARM350N/450N, ARM350U/450U, ARM300U, ARM300N,
ARM550/620/700U.
2.Description
(Cases when shading correction work for the CIS unit is required)
In the cases described below, shading correction for the CIS unit must be executed
through Simulation 63-2 (DSPF SHADING).
# When the CIS unit has been replaced
# When the CIS control PWB has been replaced
# When U2 trouble has occurred
# When the scanner control PWB (with EEPROM) has been replaced
# When the EEPROM of the scanner control PWB has been replaced
(Procedures)
1) Clean the CIS filter.
2) Clean the area around the RSPF mode reading section (glass).
3) Close the RSPF.
4) Enter Simulation 63-2 mode.
5) Select the DSPF SHADING mode.
6) Press the Start key.
The operation for shading correction is performed. When the operation has been
terminated normally, “SHADING COMPLETED” is displayed.
(Reason)
The shading correction data for the CIS unit is memorized in the EEPROM of the scanner
control PWB.
By executing shading correction through Simulation 63-2 (DSPF SHADING) on the
production line in the factory, the shading correction data is memorized in the EEPROM
of the scanner control PWB.
Since each CIS element has individual differences, the shading correction data suited to
each element is memorized at this time.
Unlike the CCD unit, the operation for shading correction with the CIS unit is performed
only through Simulation 63-2 (DSPF SHADING). After that, correction for each individual
CIS element is not performed, but an operation to correct the entire output level is
performed according to the degree of contamination.
Note : With the CCD unit, the operation for shading correction is performed automatically
when the machine is started up or every time it comes to the specified conditions.
Adjustment required when the CIS Unit or the CIS
PWB is replaced.
