24GB filing capacity* (up to 30,000 pages or 4,000 files) that centrally stores documents and 

previous jobs for fast retrieval. This allows recently completed print runs to be repeated without 

recreating the job, saving on processing time and user intervention. Features include:

AR-M451U/N’s hard disk for future reuse without having to reload or rescan the original.

Save up to 20,000 pages* of job data on the hard disk in up to 500 folders with customised names 

and locations and with enhanced security features to protect your sensitive data. Storage options 

include:

  Main Folder – store files in a central location for convenient workgroup sharing 

•

  Custom Folder – store confidential files in private folders with PIN code security

Documents that are stored on the hard disk can be quickly searched and accessed from the front 

panel display or through a Web page.

The optional Data Security Kit protects your data by encrypting it as it is stored on the hard disk.

The Printer Status Monitor lets you remotely check the status of the AR-M451U/N - to see if it has 

sufficient paper and toner, for instance - through a simple, icon-based graphical interface on your 

PC desktop before starting the job and without leaving your desk. In addition, the Printer Status 

Monitor eliminates wasted trips to the machine by notifying you when your job has been completed 

and is ready for collection. 

Sharp’s original Printer Administration Utility software makes printer networks easier to manage by 

allowing network administrators to customise monitored items and view settings such as the IP 

address directly from their PC. 

Sharpdesk™ is an original Sharp application that provides integrated desktop management of 

documents in over 200 file formats, including scanned paper-based documents and those created 

with popular applications such as Microsoft Word. It allows you to organise, edit, search, and 

distribute your documents, all with simple drag-and-drop operation.

In today’s competitive business world, information is your greatest advantage. But what can you do 

to protect it? The AR-M451U/N has multiple security features to prevent unauthorised access and 

secure your data. Providing a choice of output methods (print hold/confidential print) to keep 

sensitive information private as well as the ability to completely erase data, the AR-M451U/N brings 

you peace of mind. 

Digital copier/printers or multifunction products can retain hundreds of pages of confidential 

information from previous jobs on their hard disks or internal memory. To prevent these sensitive 

records from being recovered by unauthorised persons, the AR-M451U/N can be equipped with the 

optional Data Security Kit, which completely encrypts and erases the data generated for each job.

The Network Interface provides highly secure operation by restricting access to the AR-M451U/N on 

your office network. Only PCs that have either their IP address or MAC (media access control) 

address registered are allowed to access, preventing unauthorised use. Also, network port and 

protocol management enhances security configuration by making it possible to disable unnecessary 

protocols and vulnerable ports.

To keep others from seeing confidential documents as they are being printed out, the AR-M451U/N’s 

Print Hold function stores print data on its hard disk and withholds output until the user executes

a print command from the operation panel. For added security, the Confidential Print function

requires the user to enter in a personal identification number at the machine before printing 

can begin.
