AR-EF1/M11/P14
2.Description:
ROM version was upgraded for raising the level.
[Main additional changes]
1) Simulation 53-8 (SPF exposure position adjustment) was added. (except the models,
AR-P350/P450,.)
Refer to No.1 on page 2.
Note: Please be sure check the information mentioned in No.1-2) on the second page
when the previous ROM version is updated to this version or later.
2) The new setting values, “20K” and “40K” are newly added to the values for the
maintenance cycle in Simulation 21-1.
3) We made a change so that punching mode is not canceled if the original with mixed
orientation is used when AR-FN7 is installed.
4) We made a change so that the “Finisher Offset Tray” can be selected, newly adding
the setting items for Environment, Default, and Default Output Tray in printer mode.
5) The function was added so that the image loss area was created in network scanner
mode by enhancing the Soft SW40-6 for checking/changing the settings for simulation
66-1 software.  (Except AR-P350 / P450, 501.)
Refer to No.2 on page 4.
6) We made a change so that the engine’s serial number, not the controller’s, is sent or
received when NA2D is installed. And if “**” was included in the serial number, “**” was
changed to “XX”.
7) We corrected the adjustment failure of SPF-SIDE 2 (Original Off-Center Adjustment) in
Simulation 50-12-5. (Except AR-P350/P450,.) Refer to No.3 on page 3.
8) The indication of S/N was changed in Simulation 22-5 (Indication of ROM version data).
(Except AR-P350/P450,.)
9) The control method of recovery from Shut Off / Sleep mode was improved.
(Except AR-P350/P450,.)
Please note that the issues above was corrected if the following versions or later was
used.

1. Regarding the addition of Simulation 53-8 (SPF exposure position adjustment) (Except AR-
P350/P450,.)
As a measure against black streaking with SPF, Simulation 53-8 (SPF exposure position
adjustment) is added and PS Rear Mylar was changed from white to black.
1) In case that PS Rear Mylar was changed from white to black (PSHEP4915FCZZ ->
PSHEP4915FCZ1) (refer to the PS rear mylar attaching guideline) and the target ROM
was upgraded:
If Simulation 53-8-1(AUTO) is executed, the edge of the black mylar is automatically
detected and the scanning position (lamp UN) is determined at the predetermined area. In
this case, please be sure to close SPF (DSPF) prior to the simulation. If not, the black
mylar is not detected and the error message is displayed. (The PS rear mylar attaching
guideline is shown below.)
After execution, check to see that the value for Simulation 53-8-2 (MANUAL) lies between
10 and 50. (The default is 32.)
After changing the scanning position, image adjustments are not necessary. (The
software automatically adjust it according to the changes of the scanning position.)
2) In case that PS rear mylar is left white and the target ROM has been upgraded:
Upgrading the ROM version sets the default value of 32 and moves the scanning position
3.2mm toward the PS rear mylar. In this condition, copy an A4 horizontal original in black
or halftone and follow the procedure below.

2. The function was added so that the image loss area was created in network scanner
mode by enhancing the Soft SW40-6 for checking/changing the settings for simulation
66-1 software.  (Except AR-P350 / P450,.)
When an image was sent by e-mail, a shadow of the rear edge of the original was
trransfered to the sending image. To correct this situation, the function was added so
that the image loss area was created on the rear edge of the originals before scanning.
This function is set using Simulation 66-1 (FAX software SW setup) as shown below.

3. We corrected the adjustment failure of SPF-SIDE 2 (Original Off-Center Adjustment) in
Simulation 50-12-5. (Except AR-P350/P450,.)
In SPF-SIDE 2 adjustment (Original Off-Center Adjustment) in Simulation 50-12-5,
even after the value was changed, approx. 5mm was out of center position if the copy-
adjusted center position on the back page of the original is compared to the center
position on the back page of the original when normally copied. This was corrected
when the Main ROM is upgraded.
The target version of this upgrade is VmA.08 manufactured in March and April 2002.
Please note that any earlier versions for production was not affected.
3.Action:
