Countermeasure against "L1-00"trouble due to detection 
error of the MHPS PWB

2. Symptom 
"L1-00" scanner feed trouble may occur during operation of the main unit. 
If the lead wire of the capacitor (C1) on the MHPS PWB contacts with the plate of the 
optical unit, the sensor on the MHPS PWB generates a detection error, and it results in 
"L1" scanner feed trouble. 
3. Description 
We reviewed necessity of the capacitor (C1) mounted on the MHPS PWB. As a result, 
we confirmed that there were no problems with the performance even if it was disused. 
Therefore, the capacitor (C1) has been disused to avoid "L1-00" scanner feed trouble 
due to contact of the capacitor's lead wire with the plate of the optical unit. 
Note: Even if the MHPS PWB has an old parts code, it is a modified PWB if the 
capacitor (C1) 
          is disused. 
 
 
4. Action 
Executed during the production in March 2007 (The capacitor on the MHPS PWB was 
disused.) 
Executed during the production in April 2008 (The parts code of the MHPS PWB was 
changed.)
