[Second Corrective Action: T/R No.ARE-386-5]
To improve the situation where F1-87 is indicated due to the incorrect rotation of Stapler,
the retry operation to correct the trouble was changed.
(1) In case that the Stapler does not correctly reach to the stapling position within the
predetermined period, the number of retry operation was changed from once to twice.
(2) In case that the Stapler does not reach to the correct stapling position if retried twice as
mentioned under the condition (1) above, the operation was changed such that the
Stapler is returned to the home position so that the Stapler moves to the correct stapling
position and it is rotated again (with three retry).
[Note] If the trouble like F1-87 is experienced during the copy job and the trouble is not
canceled in retry, the period of the jam timer is over during the job, so not F1-87 but the
Paper Jam is indicated.

To prevent the malfunction (F1-87) of the stapler from occurring due to the movable PG SP
coming off, the shape of the hook of movable PG SP was changed. (The length of the left
hook is increased by 8mm, and the length of the right hook is reduced by 1mm.)  Also,
please note that the shorter hook of the movable PG SP should be hooked to the movable
PG B/A ([3]-28/29) and the longer hook should be hooked to the alignment tray ([3]-18).
Action: From the 1st lot of July 2002 production
