Symptom:  
In rare cases. the belt cleaner brush becomes detached from the transfer unit frame and 
sticks inside the transfer belt, causing paper jams. 
 
Description: 
1. Temporary Countermeasure (From May 2003 production) 
 
 
 
 
The length of the belt cleaner brush (300.5mm to 296mm) and the earth plate fixing sheet 
have been changed. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
2. Permanent Countermeasure (From June Production) 
 
 
 
 
The form of belt frame and earth plate J have been changed and the earth plate fixing 
   sheet 
has 
been 
abolished. 
 
 
 
 
Also, the colour of the belt cleaner brush has been changed to identify old (silver) from  
New (brown) however, the part code has not changed.
