[Correction Method for the Snake Path of the Transfer Belt].
The position of the transfer belt is controlled by the bead attached to the underside of the transfer belt. However,
depending on the conditions of the installation surface, subtle warping or strains can occur, causing the transfer
belt to snake in either the front or rear direction.
Rotation control plate F (Inscribed with an "N").
Confirmation and adjustment of the snaking direction of the transfer belt.
Sim. 25-1 should first be carried out. After rotating the transfer belt for a specified period of time, the side-
slipping of the belt should be checked.
* It is also possible to check the initial conditions during installation operations using Sim. 25-2.
Lowering the transfer belt to the position of the black-and-white mode, adjustments of the rotation control plate
F are carried out by loosening the adjustment screw. To change the snaking direction of the transfer belt, the
adjustment position of the rotation control plate F should be moved one unit (the initial position is Centre).
<1> Carry out Sim. 25-1. (The drum and the belt motor are driven.)
The transfer belt is rotated in the black-and-white mode position. (The belt will automatically stop rotating
after 3 minutes.)

<2> The gap between the belt drive roller and the bead should be checked on the F side. (Checking operations
will be facilitated if a pen-light is used.)
* If there is no gap (snaking in the R direction), conditions will be as shown in Fig. 1.
The rotation control plate F should be moved one (1) unit to the left. After the rotation control plate F has
been moved, the confirmation check described in 1. above should be carried out once again.
* If there is a gap of 0.5 mm to 1.5 mm present (neutral), it is not necessary to carry out adjustments to the
rotation control plate F.
* If there is a gap greater than 2 mm (snaking in the F direction) conditions will be as shown in Fig. 4. The
rotation control plate F should be moved one (1) unit to the right. After the rotation control plate F has
been moved, the confirmation check described in 1 above should be carried out once again.
<< Adjustment Point >>
<1> If the snaking direction does not reverse or become neutral by moving the rotation control plate F one (1)
unit, the rotation control plate F should be moved two (2) units from the centre position.
<2> If, after moving the rotation control plate two (2) units there is still not change in the snaking direction, is
should be assumed that there is a problem with the transfer UN or with the machine itself, and
confirmation checks should be carried out on both.
By moving the rotation control plate F to the left, the snaking direction will change from the conditions shown in
<Fig. 1> to the conditions shown in the figure below. Furthermore, if the rotation control plate F is moved to the
right, the snaking direction will be reversed.

(Points of caution to be observed during rotation control plate F adjustment operations.)
Caution:
After adjustments have been carried out, check to confirm that the transfer belt UN positioning section (metal
plate) is positioned during black-and-white mode and colour mode on the same step as the step-type hole of
the rotation control plate F.
In addition, when moving two (2) units to the left, caution should be exercised to make sure that movement to
the left does not occur more than two (2) units, as this will cause the rotation control plate F to come in contact
with the motor attachment plate.
After adjustments have been carried out, the image should be checked to confirm that there are no
abnormalities. When carrying out adjustments, particular attention should be given the edges of the Yellow
image area to make sure there are no abnormalities.
The image should be checked to confirm that the image darkness on the front edge and rear edge of the copy
paper is not exceptionally light.
