Superb image quality
The AR-C172M’s 600 dpi scan/print resolution captures every detail of the original
document, including fine text, detailed charts and even photographs. Our original
4-bit image processing LED technology produces 16 colour gradation patterns on a
single pixel for the ultimate in accuracy, and our oil-less toner produces vivid
colour documents without leaving a glossy coat on the surface.

The AR-C172M has multiple security options to protect sensitive data from
unauthorised access. Encryption*

, secure erasure, a choice of output methods and
a secure network card are all available to safeguard your most valuable business
asset data.
Data Security Kit
Digital copiers, printers and multifunction products can retain hundreds of
pages of confidential information on their hard disks or internal memory. The
optional AR-FR23U Data Security Kit can not only encrypt this data, as it is written
on the hard disk but will 'shred' the residual files by overwriting them seven
times when they are no longer needed.
Secure Network Card
The embedded Network Interface adds another level of security by restricting
access to the AR-C172M to authorised employees only. Only users who have
their IP address or MAC (media access control) address registered are allowed
access, preventing unauthorised use.
Print Hold and Confidential Print
To keep others from seeing confidential documents as they are being printed out,
the AR-C172M’s Print Hold function stores print data on its hard disk and withholds
output until the user executes a print command from the operation panel. For
added security, the Confidential Print function requires the user to enter a
personal identification number at the machine before printing can begin.
