Fault: 
Hanging Logo symptom may occur due to Electrical Noise causing PCU Main Pwb failure. 
 
Description: 
Electrical noise may be generated between the PCU & OPE communication line when the 
power is turned off/on. The noise is then synchronized with the 5V power supply, causing  
the excess voltage to damage the Driver IC. To improve the margin for noise reduction,  
two diodes have now been added. 
 
         Action: 
For machines up to and including March 2002 production, an additional Relay Pwb 
(containing a diode) should be added to the Connector Pwb.

Installation Procedure: 
 
 
1. 
Power off the copier (shutdown the print controller if installed) and remove the Rear 
Upper Cabinet to access the Connector PWB.

Remove connector CN715 (34 pin) from the Connector PWB. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
3. 
Insert the harness of the Relay PWB (CPWBN1557FC31) into CN715 of the 
Connector PWB. Carefully install/slide the Relay PWB under the Connector PWB. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
4. 
Plug the 34 pin connector from the Main Harness into the Relay PWB socket.

Hold the Main Unit Harness & the Relay PWB harness with a Binding/Cable tie 
(remove/cut any excess). 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
    6. 
Re-assemble 
the 
copier. 
 
 
From first production in April 2002, the diode is added in two places on the PCU Main 
PWB (The additional Relay Pwb is NOT required).
