Subject :
Excessive paper curl when duplex copying.
Symptom :-When performing duplex copying, paper misfeeds may occur in the
duplex unit, underneath the drum, or prior to the fuser unit due to excessive paper
curl.
Action :-A new de-curl unit which has been introduced for the SF2530 and the SF2540,
is now available for the SF2025/2030/2040/AR5132.
The kit comprises of many individual parts, including changes to the lower fuser
frame and the exit door.  It also includes new de-curl belts and a change to the lower
fuser pawl plate.
At the moment there is only a limited supply of the kit, therefore we will only
allow two kits per order.  Fitting instructions will be posted onto he technical Website
(Product Group SF2025/2030/2040/AR5132 Technical Bulletin Category).

This procedure explains the steps to add De-curler Unit Parts only.  Please refer to the service manual for the
procedure for removing and disassembling Fuser unit or Paper Delivery Reversing Unit.

[Fuser Unit]
1. Separate between the upper section and the lower section of Fuser Unit that you will
modify.  Then disassemble Lower Flame Unit.
(Fuser Lower Frame should be replaced.)
2. Attach De-curler Frame (No. 14) to Fuser Lower Frame AS (No. 1) with Screw (No. 15) × 2.
(Note that Screw (No. 15) is a “self-tapping” type 
screw and Fuser Lower Frame is not
tapped.)

3. Fit Pin × 6 (No. 5), Belt Roller (No. 6) ×6, and E6 Ring (No. 4) ×6 to Belt Drive
Shaft (No. 3).

4. Put De-curler Belt (No.7) ×6 through the part that has been assembled in Step 2 above, and
insert it into Fuser Lower Frame.  At this point, make sure that De-curler Belts are located
as shown below.
Use the existing shaft bearings and E-rings.
5. Insert Belt Shaft (No. 8) with De-curler Belts fitted into Du-curler Frame.
Then secure it by FU Drive Shaft Bearing (No.9) x 2 and E-ring (No. 10)×2.
6.Fit Shaft Bearing (No. 12) × 2 and Belt Tension Shaft (No. 11) to De-curler Frame,
and secure them by 4E-ring (No. 13) × 2.

7. Attach De-curler Sheet (No. 18) × 5 and Reverse PG Auxiliary Sheet (No.17) × 1 to
De-curler Guide (No. 16).
 
Please see the diagram below for the reference points for attaching De-curler Guide Sheet
 
and Reverse PG Sheet.  De-curler Guide Sheet must be attached along with Reference Line
 
A and B.  Reverse Inside PG Auxiliary Sheet must be attached along with Reference Line D
 
and E.
The amounts of these parts going off Reference Line must be within 0.5Mm on the +
side.  Any amount of these parts must not go off Reference Line on the   side.
8. Fit De-curler Guide that has been completed in Step 7 above to Fuser Lower Frame
with Screw (No. 15) × 4.  After the completion of this procedure, be sure to re-check
De-curler Belt to make it certain that they are located properly.
9.Remove Fuser Separation Pawls and Separation Springs from the existing Lower Pawl
Fitting Plate, and attach them to new Lower Pawl Fitting Plate (No. 2).
