(4 pcs.) and connect the 5P connector between the toner hopper
and the developing unit. At that time, put the 5P connector har-

process the harness.
(3) Install the developing unit to the copier body.

completely. Close the developing unit lever and the front cabinet.
Note: Be careful that this procedure is different from the conven-
tional simulation.
H. Toner density sensor level adjustment
Turn on the power switch of the copier.
Note: Before executing SIM 25-1 or SIM 25-2, be sure to check that
the main charger unit is securely inserted.
(1) Adjust the developing unit toner density sensor level.
Execute SIM 25-2
The touch panel shows the following display.
Touch the EXECUTE on the touch panel and execute SIM 25-2.
Adjustment is automatically made with the toner density sensor
output value displayed. After 3 min from starting stirring, the toner
density sensor is sampled 16 times and the average value is
stored as the toner density adjustment value.
Note: When the simulation is canceled before completion, automatic
reading cannot be made. Be careful not to cancel before com-
pletion.
Press the
 key to cancel SIM 25.
Note: SIM 25-2 must be executed only when developer is replaced.
For checking of the developer adjustment value in servicing,
use SIM 25-1. (Use of SIM 25-2 to check the developer adjust-
ment value in servicing may cause abnormality in the toner
density transition.)
Be careful that this simulation is different from the conven-
tional simulations.

(2) Standard state
When the standard lamp lights up after turning on the power, or when

<The time can be changed by the key operator.>
Standard state list
<When shipping from the factory, the above state is set, however, it
can be changed by the key operator.>
(3) Auto power shut off mode
When the time set by the key operator passes, power supply to the
fusing section is cur off to reduce power consumption. This is the
auto power shut off function.
In this mode, the touch panel display disappears and only the START
key display lamp blinks.
To cancel the auto power shut off mode, press the START key.
The machine will be ready for operation in about 65 sec.
<This mode can be set by the key operator. As the factory setting, the
machine is set to enter the auto power shut off mode after about
60min of leaving.>
(4) Pre-heat mode
Pre-heat mode means when the time set by the key operator passes,
the temperature in the fusing section is automatically lowered to shift
to the low power consumption mode in order to reduce power con-
sumption in the standby mode.
In the pre-heat mode, when an original is set on the automatic docu-
ment feeder, or when copy setting is made, the pre-heat mode is
canceled.
It takes about 30 sec to recover from canceling the pre-heat mode to
enter the operatable mode.
Compared to the auto power shut off mode, the saved power is less
but the recovery time is smaller.
<This mode can be set by the key operator. As the factory setting, the
machine is set to enter the pre-heat mode after about 15 min of
leaving.>
