f. EEPROM initializing + all sensors adjustment mode
When the push switch is pressed, the EEPROM is initialized. At that
time, the LED blinks at the cycle of 100msec.
After completion of EEPROM initializing, the LED turns ON. In case of
an error in the EEPROM initializing, the LED blinks at the cycle of
2000msec.
Then all sensors adjustment is started. At that time, the document
remain LED blinks at the cycle of 100msec. After completion of all
sensors adjustment, the document remain LED turns ON. In case of
an. Error in the all sensors adjustment, the document remain LED
blinks at the cycle of 2000msec.
Only when the EEPROM is successfully completed, the all sensors
adjustment is performed.

g. Resist sensor adjustment mode 
Set the DIP switch (4, 5 to ON, 1, 2, 3 to OFF) and press the push
switch. Each sensor adjustment is performed. At that time, the LED
blinks at the cycle of 100msec.  
After completion of the sensor adjustment, the LED turns ON. In case
of an error in the sensor adjustment, the LED blinks at the cycle of
100msec.

h. Timing sensor adjustment mode 
Set the DIP switch (1, 4, 5 to ON, 2, 3 to OFF) and press the push
switch. Each sensor adjustment is performed. At that time, the LED
blinks at the cycle of 100msec.  
After completion of the sensor adjustment, the LED turns ON. In case
of an error in the sensor adjustment, the LED blinks at the cycle of
100msec.

i. Paper exit sensor adjustment mode

switch. Each sensor adjustment is performed. At that time, the LED

After completion of the sensor adjustment, the LED turns ON. In case
of an error in the sensor adjustment, the LED blinks at the cycle of
100msec.

A JAM/motor lock error can be canceled by opening/closing the ADF
after jam recovery process or by applying the power again.

J. Simple ROM write function
 (1) Turn off the power switch and remove the cabinet.
Remove the rear cabinet, the flywheel, and the shield line guide.
Remove the glass holding plate right, the table glass, and the
dark box cover.
 (2) Connect the SCSI connector for the printer board of the ICU
PWB and the personal computer with the SCSI cable. (Max.
cable length 1m)

Personal computer operating on Windows95 (Desk-top/Note)
SCSI host adapter supporting ASPI
This function is ensured with the following SCSI host adapters:

 (3) Install the flash ROM PWB which writes into the flash ROM
socket of the ICU PWB.

 (4) Turn on the power switch of Cougar.
 (5) Turn on the personal computer.
 (6) When the computer is turned on, the SCSI host adapter recog-
nizes Cougar as an SCSI unit. and "SHARP AR-XXXX" is dis-
played on the personal computer display.
 (7) The following software and the data files which are to be written
into the flash ROM should be copied in a same directory.
Flash ROM writing program: FLASH.EXE (DOS program)

 (8) When FLASH.EXE is executed, the DOW window opens to dis-
play the following message.

 (9) Enter the kind of flash ROM to be written and press the enter
key, and the following message is displayed.

(10) Enter the program file name of the flash ROM to be written and
press the enter key, and the following message is displayed.
DOWNLOADING MICRO CODE (XXX VX.XX)

(11) After a while, the following message is displayed.
MICRO CODE WRITING
(12) After a while, the following message is displayed.
MICRO CODE WRITING COMPLETED. TURN OFF POWER
AND REMOVE FLASH ROM.
REWRITE FLASH ROM LABEL TO VX.XX.
TO WRITE NEXT FLASH ROM, TURN OFF POWER,
INSTALL NEXT FLASH ROM, TURN ON POWER, AND
EXECUTE THE PROGRAM AGAIN.
(13) With the above operation, writing into the flash ROM is com-
pleted. Turn off the power switch and remove the flash ROM.
(14) For writing another flash ROM, install another flash ROM with
the power switch OFF, then turn of the power switch and pro-
ceed operations from (7). In this case, the personal computer
power may be kept ON.
