REASON 

New firmware and service tool to resolve the following issues: 
 
From October 2010 (Firmware V1.03) 



  When the monitor is powered ON, in rare cases, the T-CON will not operate 

causing the display to remain in a grey state. A recovery process has been added 
to resolve this issue.  



  The PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) super optical frequency of the LED backlight 

has been changed from 120 Hz to 800 Hz. 



  Added the serial command (VOLM) for volume adjustment. The function will allow 

volume adjustment (softer / louder) from the current setting value. 

 
From December 2010 (Firmware V1.04) 



  PWM frequency of the LED backlight has been changed (3000Hz is a 

maximum and it changes in accordance with the brightness). 



  The backlight is shut off when short power interruptions occur. 

 

From September 2011 (Firmware V1.06) 



  When turning OFF/ON using certain video equipment, the magnification of the 

“Enlarge” feature was displayed differently from the set value. 



  There were issues when the remote control or the buttons on the main unit were 

mistakenly recognised as being pressed & held. 



  When inputting a YCbCr signal with PC HDMI, the display level of the texts in the 

still image might be poor. 



  When in signal waiting mode and the AUTO INPUT CHANGE was set to ON, if the 

signal was input to PCD-SUB, the system was restarted by the Watchdog Reset. 



  You can now show the Service Menu even when the OSD DISPLAY is set to 

"OFF" or the ADJUSTMENT LOCK (operations by the main unit or the remote 
control are disabled) is "ON". 

 

From November 2011 (Firmware V1.08) 



  The following problems under the environment where the one unit is connected to 

LAN and the rest of the units are set to RS-232C with the Daisy Chain Connection 
have been corrected: 

1) With IDLK and IDSL commands (commands for ID number control), it is not 
possible to control the monitor-ID1 by the browser during the period from when 
the target of the control with the commands is specified to the monitors (ID2, 
ID3, etc) other than the monitor-ID1 to when this setting is cancelled.

2) When setting the target of the control by the command using IDLK and IDSL 
commands, if the applicable monitor does not exist, no response will be 
returned but only in this case, the command to cancel the target of the control 
will not be accepted for following 90 seconds. 



  On PN-V601, 36-Multi (6 x 6), when turning ON the signal output device of 

ASTRODESIGN that is specialized for the users who use the HDMI connection, in 
very rare cases, the signal resolution would become 4095 x 16. 

 

From January 2012 (Firmware V1.09) 



  When using DVI / HDMI the screen disappears for a moment and then reappears. 



  If the monitors were powered ON after 2~5 seconds delay when connected to 

certain devices (Matrix switcher DXP 44 DVI PRO manufactured by Extron) and 
PN-V601 with DVI Daisy chain and then inputting the content without HDCP, the 
screens on the monitors (From the monitor-ID2) other than the monitor-ID1 
connected with the Daisy chain would be frozen with the noise like a sandstorm 
being displayed. 



  When connecting a PC (HP Z600/Z400 + Graphic Board NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800) 

and 3 units of PN-E601

’s with HDMI and then starting up the PC, the image was 

displayed in a reduced size.  



  When power ON under low temperature, the operation of the power supply PWB 

became unstable. This caused the phenomenon that the backlights would not be lit 
or a part of the areas would be dark. For the improvement of this phenomenon, the 
default value of PWM FREQUENCY which is the setting of PWM frequency for 
dimming the brightness has been changed from AUTO (Max 3KHz) to HIGH 
(800Hz locked). 

 

From February 2012 (Firmware V1.11) 



  When power ON under low temperature, the operation of the power supply PWB 

became unstable. This caused the phenomenon that the backlights would not be lit 
or a part of the areas would be dark. In the case that all power supply PWBs are 
the ones that the measures have been taken, the maximum frequency when the 
setting is AUTO will be set to 3KHz and in the cases other than above the 
maximum frequency will be set to 800Hz. 

 

From March 2013 (Firmware V1.15) 



  When a particular PN-V601 and PN-ZB02 (Interface extension board) are 

combined, it takes about 2 minutes to turn on backlight after power on. Then a 
back light error occurs after turning on the backlight.  



  "BOTU" sound may have occurred when the power supply is turned OFF, the off-

sequence of voice amplifier was changed.
