PN-R603/R703 Installation Guidelines <Rev1.0> February 2013
CONFIDENTIAL
-when attaching LCD panel to protection panel, the reflection
occurs and the visibility comes down.
-Regarding protecting the reflection non-glare, it is effective to
use the non-glare protection panel.
-Non glare coating has two methods. First method is AR coating
which decreases the reflection rate with light. Second method is
silica coating which decreases the reflection rate with scattered
reflected light.
-Silica coating is cheaper than AR coating. However, images
easily defocus and view angle is narrow with Silica coating.
Please check it before installation.
-Generally, when decreasing the reflection rate, image quality
comes down. Therefore, please select the suitable protection
panel in each installing location.
-the closer a distance from the protection panel to the LCD panel
get the clear image. Indeed, LCD surface temperature raise.
(Please keep 3 cm clearance to flow the air.)
About reflection
About dew condensation, water drops
AR coating
-Humidity condition for IDP
Range of humidity condition for IDP : From 20% to 80%(no
condensation)

-Dew condensation and/or liquid drops will cause the
breakdown of the circuit and/or LCD panel.
Please install LCD away from condensation and liquid drops.
-the environment which has high possibility of condensation
The place where temperature is generally low but has
frequent warm air flow.
(Example : the place in front of the vents of radiators. When
the radiator is turn on in a cold winter morning, condensation
occurs.)
-the environment which has high possibility of water drops
“Semi-outdoor” place where strong winded-rain(typhoon)
could potentially reach the monitor. The place which is below
the pipes inside the ceiling. (When installing in these places,
countermeasures should be taken to avoid water drops to
reach the monitors. For example, covering the LCD monitor
with box. In such a case, consideration should be given for
direction of vent.)

CONFIDENTIAL
-This information display is not designed for the usage in any
places which have strong vibrations, such as inside motor
vehicles.
-If the monitors will be used in the place which has the possibility
of even small vibration like railway station’s platform, shock
absorber must be considered.
About  vibration
About inclination
-Installing with inclination more than 20 degrees is impossible.
About power supply and voltage
-Please use certainly the attached or designated power cord.
Attached power cord is two pin for 100V level. For 200V(50/60Hz)
level, provided service parts(QACCJ1074MPPZ) (with change)
-When a still image is being displayed for a long period, image
retention might occur.
-Image retention can be removed by displaying motion images
or turning off the monitor. However, the longer the still image is
being displayed, the harder to remove the  image retention,
therefore, the solutions mentioned above should be taken
periodically.
About residual images
About expansion
-When using acrylic or polycarbonate protection panel, please be
aware of expansion due to heat or moisture absorption.
Acrylic protection panel can expand about 0.4%(about 5.5 mm in
“60” inch, 6.5 mm in “70” inch) when absorbing the moisture.
Please fix the protection panel not to strain it by expansion.

-Personal computer can control some function(ex. power
on/off) with RS-232C or LAN. Please connect RS-232C or
LAN in advance when installing the displays in height
location and so on. It helps when maintaining the displays.
About RS-232C  /  LAN
- In analog connection, image quality is potentially influenced
by a video board or cable. And it needs all displays
adjustment when installing.
-Please recommend digital connection(ex. HDMI, DVI,
DisplayPort connection) when customers want high quality
images. Image quality is potentially influenced by a video
board or cable. Therefore, please check the image quality
with connection in advance.
-when extending the cable with optical cable, it may occur not
to read in EDID accurately. If not read in EDID accurately,
monitors cannot display accurately. Therefore, please check
the image quality with connection in advance when using
these devices.
About cable
-When using the image recorder(ex. Personal computer, DVD
player) or peripheral equipment(ex. distributor, video switching
unit), please check the operation with connection in advance.
About peripheral equipment
Precautions for connection
About DisplayPort / DVI-D output terminal
-It is possible to output the images of DisplayPort or DVI-
I(digital signal) input to external device via DisplayPort or
DVI-D output terminal.
-When outputting the encoded images by HDCP, please use
the external device with HDCP
-It is possible to connect the monitors and display the same
images via DisplayPort input/output terminal(up to 25(for non-
HDCP-encoded content) or up to 4(for HDCP-encoded
content)).
- It is possible to connect the monitors and display the same
images via DVI input/output terminal(up to 5(for HDCP/non-
HDCP-encoded content)).

-In particular, when monitors are installed one above the
other, the temperature raise of topside monitor cause of the
exhaust heat from downside monitor.

Regarding the countermeasure against temperature, Please
keep the clearance in P.3.

In fact, when installing multi-display, it is hard to keep the
clearance in P.3. Therefore, please keep the temperature
requirements to do the countermeasures as below.
1) Reduce the surrounding temperature(using an air-
conditioner)
2)Get down the brightness(when a brightness gets down, a
power consumption and heat gets down)
3)Keep much clearance between the monitors
4)Flow the air forcibly between monitors
It is effective to use the spot cooler or fan in the back(when
the monitors catch the wind, they are easily attached the
dust).
About thermal influence
About expansion

Black tape
Please be sure the wind as much as
possible so as to pass through, not
choked .
Precautions for space between displays
(multi-display)
If the gap between displays spoils appearance (e. g. back of
the display can been seen through), please hide it by affixing
black tape at the rear.
Note: DO NOT seal the “exhalation fan and intake-nozzle” by
black tape.
Please attach the tape before connecting cables.
It is necessary to check the tape periodically to make sure
that the tape isn’t detached from the display as time goes by.
Hiding the gap between the bezels

The cabinet and frame of the information display is expanded
due to heat.
It is necessary to reserve enough space when aligning
multiple displays.
If  the space between displays is small, the weight  is loaded
to LCD panel by heat expansion.
It is necessary to increase the gap when Installing more large
display. (Standard about 5 mm)
