HARDWARE DESCRIPTION

1-4. INVERTER UNIT (TBD024L REV. C)
The 4-bulb backlight (fluorescent lamp) lighting unit which controls the
brightness of the LCD panel. The J1 connector Pins 1, 2, and 3 on the
main PWB are used for power supply (12V), Pin 8 for backlight On/Off
control (On when the voltage is 2V or higher), and Pin 7 for control volt-
age which adjust brightness. The backlight is at the brightest when the
voltage is 0 V and it darkens as the voltage drops (3.3V max.)
When the lamp fails to operate normally, the inverter unit may be shut
off due to operation of the protective circuit.
Caution: The inverter unit supplies a high voltage of approx. 1000 volts
to the lamps using the step-up transformer. It is dangerous to
touch the output connector or other parts around it with hand
when the system is in conduction. Use caution not to get an
electric shock accident when servicing.
1-5. AC ADAPTER (0219B1270)
The AC adapter is an auto power supply of 12-V output, 5.83A (MAX). It
can be used at a voltage of 90 -264 V AC (50/60 Hz).
The output plug has a grounding section at its exterior and an output
section at its interior.
It is provided with protective circuits (overvoltage, overcurrent, humidity)
and can be restored by unplugging and then plugging again the AC
cable after shut-down.
In addition, two fuses are provided at the primary side.
1-6. REMOTE CONTROL
Infrared rays are emitted in pulses by the remote control key (remote
control code). 
The remote control light receiving section Ul1 installed on the front area of
the main set, converts infrared rays (light) it receives, into voltages and
transmits the information to the microprocessor for proper processing.

The remote control code is the same as that for Sharp LCD TV AQUOS.
