This functionality has been reworked to create a user-friendlier interface. The re-work focusing on
the “dummy dessert” function. Currently if a dummy product is sold within a list chain and the
transaction laid away, when the transaction is recalled the dessert list is automatically displayed
for selection. This can be operationally not acceptable, if other items require to be sold.
However with the new functionality when the transaction is recalled the transaction stays in
registration so other items can be sold. The Dummy Dessert appears in the registration window.
If it is required to sell a dessert then if the “Dummy Dessert” item is touched in the registration
window, the dessert list is displayed.

To demonstrate this function an example best highlights the function and also shows the
condiment operation. The condiment operation is enabled when it is necessary to sell additional
condiment operation. The condiment operation is enabled when it is necessary to sell additional
priced items at a zero cost.
Example
A Restaurant has a fixed price Steak Meal which includes a Steak, Potato selection and a dessert.
When a customer orders his meal it is unlikely he would select a dessert at the time of order. So
Venta can be set up as follows to cater for this requirement.
Steak - £11.50 if sold separately
Potatoes - £2.00 if sold separately
Dessert £2.00 if sold separately
Steak Meal - which includes Steak, Potato Choice & Dessert - £12.00
Also a product called “Dessert to follow” should be created, it should have the type set as
“Dummy” and should be added to the dessert list.
The Steak Meal key should be set as a “Condiment” type product and have a price of £12.00 and
the should be added to the keyboard. It should then be linked to the list for “Served With ?”
which includes the potato choices. The list should then be linked to the dessert list.

After a Potato selection is made the Dessert list is displayed:-
The “Dessert to follow” should then be selected if the customer wishes to choose his dessert later.
The following screen is displayed. As can be seen the “Dessert to follow” is highlighted in a
different colour.
The transaction can now be laid away.
