PREFACE
This document details the installation of MICROSOFT Windows XP Home Operating System.
The Operating System is supplied pre-installed on a Hard Disk Unit (L80X500DXPHOME)
The disk and its contents should be installed in accordance with this manual and used in line with
MICROSOFT licensing.

2. At the Welcome to Microsoft Windows screen, click Next
3. On the 'End User License Agreement' screen. Ensure that you select 'Yes I accept' then press
Next.
4. When prompted with the 'Is this a genuine copy of Microsoft Windows' screen. Enter the product
key found on the sticky label supplied and press Next.
!!! IMPORTANT !!!
MICROSOFT REQUIREMENT
Peel off and attach the supplied 'Certificate of Authenticity product key' label
and stick it to the UP-X500 hardware.
(Preferably underneath the cabinet next to the serial number plate)
5. On the 'What's your computer's name' screen. Type in the required Computer name. Ie Node001
then. The Computer Description box can be left blank. Then Select Next.
6. On the 'How will this computer connect to the Internet?' screen. Select Skip
7. At the 'Ready to activate Windows?' screen. Select 'No remind me every few days'. Then Select
Next.
8. At the 'Who will use this computer?' screen. Type POS USER against the 'Your Name'. Then
Select Next.
9. On the 'Thank You' screen. Select Finish.
10. The Windows XP Home installation is now completed. The UP-X500 will now restart.

Windows XP Professional / Home
should now be ACTIVATED in line with :-
MICROSOFT'S WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL / HOME
ACTIVATION PROCEDURES.

MICROSOFT REQUIREMENT
Ensure you have Peeled off and attached the supplied
'Certificate of Authenticity product key' label
and stuck it to the UP-X500 hardware.
(Preferably underneath the cabinet next to the serial number plate).
Display
