**IMPORTANT**
UP-X300 “Lock Out” or
“Freezing” after manual
Date Change
Under the following conditions the UP-X300 terminal could “lock out” or “freeze”
(Applicable to all release versions)
Condition A:
1. Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving box is ticked. (Windows CE setting)
2. Auto Reboot at EOD is set to Yes (\HD2\X300\Windows\X300_MainWindow.ini setting)

The Date/Time is manually changed in B/O from before to after daylight saving date/time (last
Sunday in March 02:00 and last Sunday in October 02:00)

4. Shutdown OS is performed any time after above date change method
To prevent the occurrences of this problem please ensure the “daylight saving box” is
un-ticked when changing the date past BST.
If the above conditions are met the UP-X300 could become locked-out; this would prevent any
operation, and a reboot would be required.

Example’s of occurrence:
1. Engineer attended site to perform new version installation, after installation it was noticed the
date/time was set incorrectly to 2006, engineer changed the date to current data. An EOD was

If the Date/Time is changed by the system without intervention from user then the
above problems do not occur.
