UP-3500  

Licence Tool 

 

It is possible to configure an expiration date on the UP-3500.  Once the expiration date is reached, 
certain programming and reporting would be inhibited until a new licence code is entered. 
 
 
To enter an expiration date firstly enter into Service Mode. 
 

1)

  Press Mode 

2)

  Enter 99999999  

3)

  Press Enter 

 

 

 

4)

  Enter the serial number (It is not recommended to use the serial number of the till but a 

unique number that only the installing dealer knows.  I.E Invoice number) 

5)

  Enter the desired expiration date 

6)

  Ensure the current date is correct. 

7)

  Press Enter 

8)

What happens once the expiration date is reached? 
 
The UP-3500 will continue to work as normal for trading and programming (excluding date 
programming) but reports will be inhibited.  If the user attempts to make any reports a License 
Expired notice will be displayed prompting the user to notify the dealer. 
 

 

 
 
The dealer may issue a new license code which can extend the expiration period to a date of their 
choice or an unlimited license can be generated. 
 
 
How do I generate a new license? 
 
Firstly, the License tool is required.  The License tool is a windows application that runs on your PC.

Once installed and running on your PC you can generate a new license code.  
 

1)

  Firstly, Enter the SN number into the License Tool that was originally used as the serial 

number on the UP-3500 when first configuring the expiration date. 

2)

  Choose a new Expiration Date or tick the Unlimited License tick box. 

3)

  Click “Create License” 

4)

  The new License Code will be generated.   

 
The newly generated License Code can now be entered into the UP-3500. 
 
How do I enter the new License Code into the UP-3500? 
 

1)

  Press Mode (while signed on) 

2)

  Select PGM1 MODE 

3)

  Select SETTING 

4)

  Select LICENSE 

5)

  The current Expiration date will be shown 

6)

  Press OK 

 

 

 

 
7)

  Using the numeric keypad, enter the new license code and then press ENTER 

8)

  If successful “Are you sure?” is shown. 

9)

  Select OK 

10)

 The new Expiration Date is now shown, Press OK to finish. 

 
Please note that it is vital the same Serial number is entered into the License tool that was originally 
used in the initial expiration setup.  If the same serial number is not entered correctly, then the new 
license code will not be accepted.
