It is now possible to install SharpPOS on to a Windows 10 operation system.  
This process involves the installation of SQL server express 2014 and .Net 
framework 4.5 or above. 
 
Programming 
 
 
 
Prior to installation in Control Panel – Programs and Features uninstall the 
program ‘Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable’ 
 
There are 2 new installation files SharpPOSSetup_RZX730_655A.exe  and 
VPM8SetupA.exe. 
 
Note: SQL 2014 is not supported by Microsoft on Windows XP and POS 
Ready 2009.  The following installs are for use on Windows 7 / POS Ready 7 
and Windows 10.  
 
1.  .Net installation 
.Net framework 4.5 or above must be installed first 
.Net Framework version 4.5 or above can be installed in 2 different 
ways. Either by the internet installer or the standalone installer both 
download links are below. 
 
.Net 4.5 installation option 1 – requires internet connection

2.  The following assumes that the .Net 4.6.1 offline installation is being

SharpPOS / VPM installation 
 
1.  Set UAC to never notify in control panel – Users 
 
2.  Manually create the folder C:\Vpro and ensure that it is shared with full 
administrator rights. 
 
3.  Download the following 2 installation files and place them in the 
C:\Vpro folder. 
 
VPM8 SQL 2014 installer

4.  Always install VPM8 first. 
 
5.  Launch the VPM8SetupA.exe file. 
 
 
 
6.  Select Install 
 
7.  Select Close when install is complete. 
 
8.  When prompted select restart.

10. Select Install. 
 
11. Select Close when install is complete. 
 
12. Download the latest update V4.1.2252 or above and run setup.bat. 
 
13. Create a shortcut to the C:\vpro\exe\S2008.exe file. 
 
14. Place this shortcut on the Desktop. 
 
15. Right click the shortcut and select properties. 
 
16. For a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 add /s5 to the end of the target 
line so that it shows as c:\vpro\exe\s2008.exe /ZPC@Sharp /s5 
 
 
17. For a screen resolution of 1366 x 768 add /s3 to the end of the target 
line so that it shows as c:\vpro\exe\s2008.exe /ZPC@Sharp /s3 
 
18. Turn off the windows firewall or ensure that the following applications 
are contained in the list of firewall exceptions. 
 
C:\Vpro\Exe\S2008.exe 
 
C:\Program files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL12.SPOSSQL_10\MSSQL\Binn\SQLSERVER.exe 
 
starting VPM8.
