Overview 
It is now possible to facilitate data transfer to and from a remote back-office system.  
It is possible to remotely transfer the following data: 
 
  CASHRSP to a remote location 
  Exported EOD files (COMMSOUT) to a remote location 
  Imported data (COMMSIN) from a remote location 
  Loyalty Log file to a remote location 
  Real-Time loyalty log requests to/from remote location 
 
 
The data transfers are implemented using FTP, which brings standardization and 
system-independence. In all the above cases SharpPOS acts as an ftp client, 
connecting an ftp server at the remote back-office location. All transfer types must 
access the same ftp server (although this must have different directories for each 
transfer type). 
 
 
In order to minimize any impact on normal operation, all outgoing files are 
assembled locally in the normal way. The transfer from these locations to the remote 
location then takes place silently in the background. Similarly, remote folders are 
periodically scanned to determine if there are any files waiting for transfer to 
SharpPOS.  
 
 
In order to prevent files being transferred from a remote location more than once, 
remote files will be deleted after transfer. 
 
 
Note: Each SharpPOS system must have its own location/folder on the remote 
server, i.e. such a folder may not be shared between SharpPOS systems.

To use both ‘immediate’ and ‘deferred’ imports set the path as follows 
COMMSIN/NOW;COMMSIN/${DATE} as shown in above picture.

current source folder name in SharpPOS. 
Therefore if COMMSOUT/${SF}  is specified, files from \VPro\Commsout\YYYMMDD 
will be transferred to COMMSOUT/YYYMMDD, and files from \VPro\Commsout will be 
transferred to COMMSOUT/COMMSOUT.

Use FTP
. If set, the logfile and request paths correspond to the 
names on the FTP server. The file 
LOYnnn.LOG

FTP server, but only when there is no file with that name present on the destination, 
i.e. the loyalty server must remove a loyalty log file before or after processing. 
 
Real-time loyalty requests and responses will be sent to and from the locations 
configured on the FTP server. 
 
Note: 
Transfer of customer images is not currently supported as SharpPOS does not 
have direct access to the location of any images (unless of course the images 
have been separately transferred to SharpPOS, and the image paths correspond 
to these locations).
