CHANGE IN THE ROM CARRIED OUT AS A MEASURE
TO REALIZE THE EURO SPECIFICATIONS.
1.Model Name:
ER-A460/A470/A490/A570/A610
ER-A57R1/A61R1
2.General:
A change in the application ROM has been carried out as a measure to accommodate
the introduction of the EURO currency in Europe.
3.Description:
A change in the ROM has been carried out as a measure to realize the EURO currency
accommodation specifications described below.
<1> A change in the number of digits has been carried out for the currency exchange 
rate [3 digits for the whole numbers, and 6 digits for the decimal places].
<2> The printing of the EURO symbol.
<3> A drawer function for foreign currencies.
<4> EXCHANGE 1 sum printing function for the total sum.
<5> TAB function for foreign currencies.
<6> CHECK, CREDIT receipt function for EXCHANGE 1 sums.
<7> A change has been carried out in the method of calculating foreign currencies 
(the addition of a subtraction function has been carried out).
<8> An automatic change function for EURO mode.
4.Action:
For field:
The change in the ROM described below should be carried out for users who require
the EURO specifications. No explanation manual will be made available for the EURO
specifications.
It is important to note that the setting data (RAM data) which was used with the old
ROM can be used with the new ROM after the new ROM has been installed if the ROM
replacement procedures described in the supplemental documents have been carried
out. (The old RAM data is interchangeable with the new RAM data.)
[COORDINATION CAPABILITIES WITH THE OPTION ROM]
Coordination capabilities with the ROM are not necessary with this change in the ROM.
When using the new ROM, both the Standard ROM and the option ROM should be
replaced at the same time. Furthermore, when the option ROM is being loaded for
users who do not require EURO specifications and who are using the old ROM, a

[ROM REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES].
Replacement operations which are carried out in the markets for the new ROM on the
ECR which is using the old ROM should be carried out in accordance with the
procedures described below. It is important to note that the service manual and the
programming manual should be consulted for details concerning each operation.
(For models ER-A460, A470, and A490.)
1.
Back up on a floppy disk using ER-01FD or ER-02FD the RAM data of the ECR.

Remove the old ROM, replace it with the new ROM, and carry out the MASTER 
RESET operation.
3.
Using ER-01FD or ER-02FD, send the RAM data which was backed up on the 
floppy disk in step 1 above to the ECR.

Carry out the RESET operation for the SRV.

Carry out the settings described below.
 Exchange rate setting (PGM #1310).

no. 1 above, and carry out the INLINE settings once again. (PGM #3610).
