SECTION 3 ADJUSTMENTS
<TW370/TX430/TX340>
* Before setting, check which type of Optical block is used by
the projector according to the "Optical block removal"
chapter in Optical Parts Disassembly.
1. Enter the service mode.
2. Optical block type check
Select Group 290 and No. 0 to check the following values;
Data "0"
: L-type Optical block
Data "20"
: R-type Optical block
If the installed type of Optical block is different from the
set display mode, perform the following procedures.
3. Optical block type mode setting
Select Group 290 and No. 1, set the Data value between
10 and 0 or 20 according to the Optical block type. When
the value reaches 0 or 20, it will return to 10.
3. 2. Circuit adjustment
CAUTION: The each circuit has been made by the fine adjustment at factory. Do not attempt to adjust the following
adjustments except requiring the readjustments in servicing otherwise it may cause loss of performance
and product safety. Before adjustment, please turn on the projector for more than ten minutes.
WARNING: USE UV RADIATION EYE AND SKIN PROTECTION DURING SERVICING
.
CAUTION: To prevent suffer of UV radiation, those adjustments must
be completed within 25 minutes.
1. Fan voltage adjustment

Digital voltmeter
1. Enter the service mode.
2. Connect the digital voltmeter to the test points listed
below.
3. Select Group no. 250, No. 0 and change the Data
value to adjust the reading of voltmeter to be
specified value.
4. Adjust the remaining adjustments of the No. 1 to 5
listed below.

3. Flicker adjustment

1. Enter the service mode.
2. Select Group No.30 and change Data value as follows.
Obtain the minimum screen flickering value by adjusting
the value.

4. Keystone offset correction
Input signal No signal
1. Put the projector on a horizontal place with the adjustable
feet being minimum range and then enter the
service mode.
2. Select Group 102, No.3 and set data value from 0 to 10.
3. By pressing the <INPUT/ENTER> button, the Keystone
Offset adjustment will start.
4. When it has completed, the "OK" message will appear on
the screen.
5. By pressing any button on the projector or the remote
control, the "OK" message will disappear.
(Data value of Group 102, No.3 will be back to 0 for
initial value.)

3. 5. EEPROM data transfer
1. Required equipment
1. PC : Use for EEPROM data transfer
2. Communication cable : D-sub 9pin (male/female RS-232C straight)
3. Software : Data Backup Tool Package data
(Download from the projector service home page.)
2. Preparation
1. Move the folder "DataBackup" to the top directory of the C drive on your PC. There are files in the folder as shown below.

2. Connect the serial terminal of projector and PC with an
RS-232C cable.
[Note] Setup the projector not to enter the standby mode
or shutdown mode during the working.

3. Backup the EEPROM data (before replacing
A-P.C.Board)
1. Double click the icon of software [PJ data Read Tool
Ver2.4.exe] in the folder of "DataBackup". The control
window will appear.
2. Input 9-digit number on the text box as the file name.
e.g. serial number. This file will be stored in "DataBack-
up" folder.
3. Connect the AC cord and turn the projector on.
4. Select the available COM port number and then press
the button to start reading-out the EEPROM data from
the projector and stored it in your PC.
5. After completing the reading out, "OK" will be appear on
the window.
[Note]
If "NG" appears, should delete a created file and then
take step 4 again. Do not overwrite the data into a cre-
ated file.
