SECTION 3 ADJUSTMENTS

1. 8. LD unit runtime reset
f
  When replacing the LD unit with a new one, reset the LD runtime in the service menu.
1.  Enter the service mode, and select submenu [LIGHT RUNTIME RESET] of [EXTRA OPTION] menu and press the  
[ENTER] button.
2. Select the replaced LD unit number and press the [ENTER] button. 
3.  The confirmation screen is displayed. 
Select [OK] and press the <ENTER> button, the LD runtime is reset.
4. On the status screen, check that the LD unit runtime has been reset and lighted.

1. 9. Pixel shift adjustment
f
  After replacing the WOB unit, adjust the WOB unit drive signal.
1.  Displays the focus test pattern and adjusts the focus.
2. Enter the service mode, display the WOB adjustment (W) pattern in the [TEST PATTERN] menu, and adjust the focus. 
3.  Select [PIXEL SHIFT ADJUST] in the [EXTRA OPTION] menu and press the <ENTER> button.
4. Each adjustment item is displayed. Adjust the value with the q w button while checking the display screen.

Adjust the amplitude of the drive waveform. The pixel shift amount changes.
SLOPE
Adjust the slope of the drive signal waveform. Adjust when there is blur in the image.
PHASE 60Hz
Adjusts the phase of the drive signal waveform with respect to the input signal.
Adjust if there are jaggies in the image.
PHASE 50Hz
(1) [GAIN] adjustment
  • If the center line of the three lines of the test pattern is offset, adjust so that the three lines are equally spaced.

(2) [SLOPE] adjustment
  • If the three lines are blurred even after adjusting the focus, adjust so that there is no bleeding.
(3) [PHASE 60Hz] / [PHASE 50Hz] adjustment
  •  Normally no adjustment is required. 
If there are jaggies on the slanted lines or curved ilnes of the image, adjust it so that it is not noticeable.

2. Firmware update procedure
f
  Firmware updating can be done via the LAN terminal or the SERIAL terminal. 
   DIGITAL LINK firmware can be done via the serial terminal only.
f
 It is recommended to use the LAN terminal for updating the firmware.(updating speed is faster than serial terminal)
2. 1. Equipment to be used
1. Computer : Use it for firmware transferring
2. Communication cable : 
    
3. Service Software : [MainSubNtUpdateTool.exe ]      Download from the projector service website.
4. Firmware software : Download the firmware file from the projector service website to the PC.
2. 2. Connection Preparations
1. Check the settings of the projector.
 
LAN terminal connection
  1) Set [NETWORK CONTROL] → [TYPE SELECT] in the [NETWORK] menu to [LAN].
  2) Check the projector IP address in [NETWORK STATUS] of the [NETWORK] me and take a note.
  3) Set the IP address of computer to approximate (same network group) value of the projector IP address.
 
  SERIAL terminal connection
  1)  The [INPUT SELECT] of sub menu [RS-232C] in [PROJECTOR SETUP] must be set according to the connection meth-
od.
  2) Enter the service mode, set [RS-232C] → [EMULATE] in the [PROJECTOR SETUP] menu to [OFF].
  3) Check the RS-232C settings (ID, Baudrate and Parity) and take a note.
  
• If you have changed the each menu settings, please return settings to the original (customers) after work.
2. Connect the projector and the PC by using a communication cable.

2. 3. Update procedure
1. Switch the projector to "Normal-Standby" mode.
2. Start up service software [MainSubNetUpdateTool.exe] with a computer.
