Outline
4.4.1.
General Description
KX-NS1000 provides various Line Interface functions. The line interface functions; such as SLT, COLine, and Digital Trunk are
mounted on each Option Service Card, and these functions are controlled directly from CPU on the Mother Board.
In the line interface function part, voice signal is converted into PCM data format and transferred to the Mother Board via Voice
Bus on the Back Board. PBX function is achieved because the PCM data is exchanged by the Local Time Switch on the FPGA .
On the other hand, it is possible to mount the DSP card on the Mother Board. DSP card converts the PCM voice signal into the
VoIP packet and also provides CODEC conversion function.
KX-NS1000 can also be used as the fax server, with the installation of a fax card. The fax card terminates the arriving fax data
from an outside line,  and convert it to a fax image data.
The power unit supplies Power to the Mother Board, and also to the Option Service Card by way of Back Board.
4.4.2.
Mother Board
Mother Board is a control part of this system, and controls all the functions of each Option Card on this device.
For more detailed information on the Mother Board part; please refer to Chapter 4.3 "Mother Board Circuit Operation".
4.4.3.
Back Board
The Back Board functions as a backplane to connect Mother Board with Option Service Card. Only passive parts such as con-
nectors are mounted on the Back Board. The pattern of Option Service Card is relayed to the Mother Board by electric signal.
4.4.4.
Power Supply Unit
This unit is switching regulator power supply and supplies DC voltages to Mother Board, Option Service Card (free slot).
