7 MAINTENANCE
7.1.
Maintenance Chart
          C: Clean each of the following parts every 2,000 sheets scanned.
          R: Replace rollers (Paper Feed, Double-feed Prevention) every 100,000 sheets scanned.

          Note:
       1. The above roller maintenance values are stored in the maintenance counter (Refer to Sec. 9), and the PC 
           will notify users of cleaning and replacement timing if the utility software for the scanner has been installed.
           
       2. The maintenance schedule was determined according to paper standards (A4: 80 g/m
2
 / Letter: 20 lb.),
           which can vary greatly between users. Therefore, the schedule may vary depending on usage conditions.

7.2.
Cleaning
7.2.1.
Preparation
Before cleaning, the following procedures are required.
(1) Push and hold the Power Button for one second or more to
      turn off the scanner.
      Then, unplug the AC Adaptor from the scanner.
(2) Push the Door Open Button to open the ADF Door.
Note:
  When the ADF Door does not open even if the Door Open 
  Button is pushed repeatedly, there is a possibility that the 
  door was not closed properly.
  In this case, try to close the ADF Door until it clicks into
  place.

7.2.2.
Cleaning
According to the instructions in the following figures (Fig. 7.2.2-1 and Fig. 7.2.2-2), wipe off the dirt from the surface of each part to 
maintain the performance of the scanner.
              (Fig. 7.2.2-1): Cleaning Parts and Action
    Note:

    (1) Open the bag on the dotted line and take out the Roller Cleaning Paper.
 
   (2) If the bag is left open for a long period of time before using it, the alcohol will evaporate.
Please use the Roller Cleaning Paper immediately after opening the bag.         
   (3) Keep the roller cleaning paper out of reach of small children.
   (4) Do not store the Roller Cleaning Paper in direct sunlight or in a place with temperature over 40
°C (104°F).
   (5) The Roller Cleaning Paper (Model No. KV-SS03) is available from your sales representative.
