6.14. HVPS (High Voltage Power Supply) SECTION
6.14.1. HVPS SPECIFICATION
DEV BIAS is output from one of the output terminals after the DEV CHG signal selects DEV(+) BIAS and DEV(-) BIAS.
TRA BIAS is output from one of the output terminals after the TRA CLK signal selects TRA(+) BIAS and TRA(-) BIAS.

6.14.2. CHG-BIAS (Charge BIAS) UNIT
When the CHG REM terminal becomes “L”, Charge BIAS(-1000V) is output from CHG OUTPUT.
6.14.3. TRA(+) BIAS (Transfer(+) BIAS)/TRA(-) BIAS (Transfer(-) BIAS) UNIT
When the CHG REM terminal is “L” and the TRA CLK terminal is “Open”, Transfer(-) BIAS(-1000V) is output from TRA OUTPUT
the moment Charge BIAS(-1000V) is output from CHG OUTPUT. When 5.425KHz PWM (pulse-width modulation) signal is input to
the TRA CLK terminal, Q1 turns ON by IC1, and TRA(+) CURRENT BIAS according to the PWM signal is output from TRA OUT-
PUT. The PWM signal will be turned to a constant voltage by the resistor and the condenser, and input to the IC1. The IC1 com-
pares this voltage with the feedback voltage from T101 and controls the Q1. As for the transfer current, +25
µA is output when DUTY
of the TRA CLK input signal is 0%, or +4
µA is output when that is 72%.

6.14.4. DEV BIAS UNIT
After the CHG REM is turned on, Inputting the PWM signal to the DEV CHG generates the corresponding voltage from the DEV
output terminal. The range of output voltage is 0 V to 200 V.

6.15. HEAT LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT
The temperature of the fixing part of the Fixing Unit is converted to a voltage by THERMISTOR and input to IC300. The heater
turns ON/OFF the photo-coupler PC1 at the heater control port (IC300-AD19pin), and is turned ON/OFF at the triac SCR1. And
two thermostats are set on the AC line as the safety devices.
1. Control at Printing
a. After the printing signal is received, turn ON the heater.
b. After that, turn ON the motor at the Primary Stable Temperature (150
°C).
c. After that, control at the Secondary Stable temperature (160
°C), and feed papers.
2. Safety Protection
If +1.2V stops, IC300 cannot control HTCTL signal. In that case, Q527 is turned off and the heater cannot be turned on.
