4.2. Setting Up
<Initial Position of the Switches for Adjustment>
8
An initial setting of the Switches on the Rear Panel (Video
Board SW1) as follows:
Automatic Light Control/Electronic Light Control Selector
(ALC,ELC) ...................................................................ALC
Back Light Compensation Mode Selector
[BNC ON (ALC),OFF]..................................................OFF
[BNC ON (ELC),OFF]..................................................OFF

8
The adjustments should be done with this initial setting,
unless otherwise specified.
8
The adjustments should be done after 10 minutes warm
up.
<Setting Up for Standard Picture>
8
Mount the Manual Iris Lens (HF16A) on the Camera.
8
Set the Logarithmic Gray Scale Chart.
8
Incident light of 1 050 nt ± 50 nt (2 750 lx ± 150 lx) on the
Logarithmic Gray Scale Chart.
8
Aim the Camera at the Logarithmic Gray Scale Chart.
8
Mount the ND8 Filter (1 pc.) on the Lens.
8
Set the Camera so that the Camera at the Logarithmic
Gray Scale Chart becomes full picture on the Under-
scanned Black and White Video Monitor.
8
Connect the Oscilloscope to TP4 (IRIS SIG) on the Video
Board.
8
Set the Lens Iris so that the signal level at TP4 becomes
500 mV ± 10 mV as shown in Fig. 4-2.

The adjustment should be done with this Standard condi-
tion, unless otherwise specified.

5. Adjustment Procedure
8
Refer to the Location of Test Points and Adjusting Con-
trols on the page 6.
(1) +10V Confirmation
Test Point:
Pin 5 of CN1 (+10V)
Video Board
8
Connect the Digital Voltmeter to Pin 5 of CN1.
8
Confirm that the Voltage at pin 5 of CN1 should be within
10.0 V ± 0.5 V.
(2) +5V Confirmation
Test Point:
+Polarity of C9 (+5V)
Video Board
8
Connect the Digital Voltmeter to + polarity of C9.
8
Confirm that the Voltage at + polarity of C9 should be
within 5.0 V ± 0.5 V.

8
Set the Automatic Light Control/Electronic Light Control
Selector (on the Video Board SW1) to ELC position.
8
Aim the Camera at the Logarithmic Gray Scale Chart .
8
Connect the Oscilloscope to TP4.
8
While closing slowly the Lens Iris from Iris open (F1.4),
adjust VR5 so that the signal level at TP4 changes
between Ground level and 500 mV DC alternately.

8
Adjust VR1 so that the maximum luminance section (11th
portion of the Gray Scale Chart) of the signal at TP4  sat-
urates at 1 500 mV ± 100 mV as shown in Fig.5-2.
If can not reach to the specified level, while changing
(opening) the Lens Iris, adjust VR1 to the point where
only the 11th portion saturates.
