FESTIVAL 60/80 TUNER/CONTROLLER DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURE
TOP HALF
1. Disconnect all external cables and separate Tuner/Controller section from CD changer; set the
unit on a padded surface.
2. Remove the volume knob by pulling straight off; remove the single plated screw directly below the
shaft.
3. Gripping the small right front panel from the bottom edge, pull sharply up and away from the unit
to disengage.
4. Gripping the entire curved front display panel from the top edge, pull sharply towards you to
disengage. There are tabs at the bottom, with a hinge-like action. Unplug the two molex
connectors from the Main PCB to disengage from the unit.

5. Unscrew shield as necessary to service; there are four plated screws and three soldered
connections.
6. To re-assemble, make sure to insert the bottom of the front panel first, engaging the three
connecting tabs. A gentle push will lock the panel back into place.
7. Replace the right panel by inserting the top of the panel first, engaging the two connecting tabs;
replace single screw and knob.
BOTTOM HALF
1. Turn unit upside-down and remove the (6) bottom screws; one is in a recess.
2. Remove the cover by pulling on the front portion first; remove from unit.
3. To remove main PCB and complete assembly: Remove the two deeply recessed screws in the
PCB, and one plated screw on the board’s surface.
4. In the deep cavity adjacent to the motor, remove only the two larger recessed screws holding the
transformer assembly to the top cover.
5. Remove the black clip at the rear of the unit near the power cord assembly - carefully insert a tool
between the board and the clip to lift the clip towards you to work it out of its slot..
6. Pulling on the front portion of the PCB, work the board away from the rear panel, making sure
both the rear connectors and bank of RCA jacks are clear from the rear panel; the (6) plastic

7. Remove molex connectors as needed to completely disengage assembly from chassis.
8. Re-assemble in reverse order, engaging the rear of the assembly into the chassis first. Make

9. Replace the transformer screws first, followed by the three PCB screws; replace the small plastic
clip at the rear of the PCB.
10. Replace the bottom cover, “hinging” the cover at the rear of the unit to engage the four
connecting tabs; replace screws.
