Subject: Service overview DVD1/230.
Following problems have occurred on the DVD1 since the launch of the product. Below is an overview of the
problems as well as the solutions and the serialnumber cut in the production.
1.
Bad remote control sensitivity. Serialnumber OK > TH0009-04026.
Replace R985 on the rearpanel board, with a new resistor value of 10 kOhm.

Open/close problems, Serial number OK will be advised.
Either resolder/exchange ICM-201. In most cases the diode DM202 defective. PN : J2221510304X.

Digital COAX output problems. Serialnumber OK > TH0009-15860.
Insert 10 Ohm resistor at position R801 on the output board.

RGB autoselect function do not work. Serial number OK > TH0009-14249.

DVD1 remote activates older HK equipment. Due to the codeconflict, some customers will find their older
HK amplifiers to be triggered by the remote from the DVD1.

does
not playback CDRs.

Locked in St. by. Could be related to defective D05 in the power supply. Serialnumber OK TH0009-14827.

16:9 and 4:3 control signals in the scartoutput, not working properly. Serialnumber OK > TH0009-15860.
Remedy short R840, Change R841 to 500 Ohm, Change R845 and R838 to 1 kOhm.

Occasionally the power button stucks. Serialnumber OK > TH0009-15860.
The power button is slightly blocked by the frontpanel (glasswindow).

Problem is related to the coincidence of the internal heat and the some production problems in specific
laser productions. Replacement of the laser PN : 10663610XX can be ordered. Keep the defective ones
for eventually return to HCI.
Production have changed from serial number TH0009-13491, the remedy includes new mecha, 3
resistors and a vented topcover. This kit can be ordered as DVD1REPKIT. Service information can be
obtained from our side.
For all repairs related to the mecha : Keep the defective mechas, collect and inform us the
serialnumbers for the repaired units.
